I am not a chemist, but I do have to dabble in chemistry. My background is more geology and physics.

What I love about my research is that I get to look into the past at changes that occur fast enough to be relevant to humans. Ice cores allow us to look at abrupt climate change and sea level change that happen in years to decades.
