39. How many other bases are on the continent?
Good Question! I will be honest and tell you that I do not know the exact answer to that question. There are a lot of countries represented with bases in Antarctica.
The US has three bases — McMurdo (where I am), South Pole, and Palmer Station on the Peninsula
McMurdo is very close to the New Zealand Scott Base and Mario Zucchelli Italian Base. Dumon d’Urville based out of France and Casey from Australia are on the same coast. Many of the scientists and workers heading to these bases stop at McMurdo before departing for their respective bases.
