15. What is the average temperature in Antarctica, and does it snow every day? Is it cold there?

Average temperature varies a lot by location. South Pole is pretty cold, with a mean annual temperature of -50C, which is -58F. I’m here in summer, so the temperatures are between -30C and -20C. When it’s this cold, I typically only think in C and not F.

Today (December 15, 2022) at McMurdo, the temperature is 27F. Much like a MN winter.

It’s currently -18F at South Pole. But with the wind it feels like -40F. And this is summer!

It does snow in Antarctica, but not much. It is the southern most desert in the world and is extremely dry and cold.
